We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to join a Banking client of ours in Zurich. This exciting opportunity will involve helping one of Switzerlands largest banks to implement Generative AI across the business by building an Azure-based gateway in the cloud to enable GenAI to be used both onprem and in the cloud.

The role requires German language skills, and candidates to be based a commutable distance from Zurich.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Building and expanding the data science platform on Microsoft Azure
  • Planning, developing, maintaining and integrating cloud solutions / cloud native services
  • Implementing new platform requirements and performing release upgrades
  • Assuming responsibility for specific areas of responsibility, e.g. designing and implementing authentication flows between cloud and on-premises, connecting databases or extending cloud services for data science and BI workloads
  • Ensuring the operation (DevOps) of the data science platform with user management and monitoring
  • IT consulting for the specialist departments around the data science platform and data connections, business intelligence, Git integration & scheduling
  • Close collaboration with the decentralized data science teams for the coordination and implementation of requirements for solutions, definition of best practices, ensuring data protection, and performance optimization.
Desirable Requirements:
 
  • Strong background in Cloud Engineering and Infrastructure
  • Experience with Azure and related functions are essential (AzureSQL, Devops, Azure AI etc.)
  • Terraform, Kubernetes and Docker experience would be a plus
  • Experience working with AI services is important for this role
  • Experience working in financial services would be a plus
 
The role offers the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement (4 days onsite in Zurich) and is a permanent role.
