echnical Project Manager
6-Month Contract
Fully Remote – UK based
Daily Rate: £530 / Inside IR35
 
Join a dynamic team within Quality Engineering Services, where you'll play a key role in managing and maintaining non-production test environments that support Agile squads and larger waterfall projects. This project focuses on delivering and implementing an Environment Strategy to ensure test environments are current, fit for purpose, and reflective of live systems.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee test environments, ensuring they align with project needs and roadmaps.
  • Approve and manage code deployments, backups, restores, and test data loads.
  • Address and resolve environment defects, collaborating with service teams as needed.
  • Monitor and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies related to test environments.
  • Support the delivery of the Environment Strategy and Transformation initiatives.
  • Maintain up-to-date environment schematics, architecture diagrams, and capacity plans.
  • Report on environment performance, including outages, defects, and deployments.
  • Liaise with project teams, testers, and external suppliers to ensure minimal disruption during environment outages.
  • Engage with senior management and participate in forums to align on environment strategies and updates.
 
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in project delivery and environment management in a multi-platform environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Mainframe, UNIX, Windows, WAS (WebSphere Application Server), Oracle, and MQ platforms.
  • ITIL certification or equivalent experience in incident and change management.
  • Familiarity with financial, legal, risk, and control aspects of environment management.
  • Understanding of infrastructure, particularly in large organizations (10,000+ users).
  • Strategic focus and transformation management.
  • Advanced problem-solving, risk management, and change management skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Proficient in developing and delivering reports and environment-related documentation.
  • Knowledge of NAG standards policies and procedures would be beneficial
  • Understanding of NAG infrastructure would be beneficial
