Solution Enterprise Architect
Contract Duration: 3.5 months
Location: Hybrid – 3 days on-site in Cheltenham, 2 days remote
SC (Security Clearance) Clearance Required
Rate: £480 per day/ Inside IR35
We are seeking a highly skilled Solution Enterprise Architect to support a critical infrastructure transformation project for a leading organization. The role involves designing and deploying a robust Active Directory (AD) environment to meet organizational goals and transitioning to a ".net" namespace. You will deliver technical expertise in AD deployment, optimization, and migration while ensuring seamless integration of complex components.

We are seeking a highly skilled Solution Enterprise Architect to support a critical infrastructure transformation project for a leading organization. The role involves designing and deploying a robust Active Directory (AD) environment to meet organizational goals and transitioning to a ".net" namespace. You will deliver technical expertise in AD deployment, optimization, and migration while ensuring seamless integration of complex components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy and configure four new data centers (2 x forest root and 2 x child domain) on new IP ranges within the existing AD environment.
- Decommission the current four data centers (2 x forest root and 2 x child domain) on the old IP ranges after successful deployment.
- Conduct a detailed AD discovery using "read-only" scripts provided.
- Compile a comprehensive AD Discovery and Recommendation report covering:
- Deployment Model (Architecture View)
- FSMO and GC Roles
- Functional Levels
- AD Sites and Services
- Servers and Versions
- Network Time Protocol
- DNS/WINS
- AD Trusts
- AD Server & Replication Health
- Users, Computers, and Groups
- Group Policy / Kerberos and Password Policies
- Monitoring and Management
- Ports, Protocols, and Firewall Rules
- Based on the AD Discovery report, either:
- Reconfigure the existing AD environment to support the ".net" namespace, or
- Deploy a new AD infrastructure to support the ".net" namespace.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience designing and deploying complex Active Directory infrastructures.
- Expertise in AD discovery, optimization, and reconfiguration, including DNS, GPO, RBAC, and related areas.
- Knowledge of Entra Connect, PKI solutions, and COTS patching tools.
- Experience working with large-scale enterprise environments and SC clearance.
- Strong analytical skills to produce detailed technical reports and recommendations.
