Voices of Pride 2023: Meet Dinet Luchies
To celebrate Pride Month, we are interviewing some of our incredible Thought Leaders here at SODA. Meet Dinet Luchies, International Commercial Director and Head of Public Sector UK. We were keen to find out what Pride means to Dinet, as well as her background and career achievements.
Where did you study and what got you into tech?
After finishing uni in the Netherlands, I interviewed for an OEM in Dublin. I got offered a role as a credit controller, which I accepted. Before I started, following a confusing phone call (which in hindsight was an interview), I started as a bids & tenders administrator. I had no idea what that meant or what I would do...but it was amazing! I took to the role like a fish to water. 20 odd years later, I am exceptionally proud to have had the ability to recruit and train some amazing bid managers.
What have been your biggest achievements to date?
Right now, I am proud of where my hard work has led me and my current role(s) is the most demanding I’ve done. Setting up a new bid team is a challenge, taking on the UK Public Sector team adds a new dimension.
How would you describe Pride?
It is so important for me to be able to be my authentic self every day, that is what Pride means to me. To be proud of who I am, of what I’ve done and of where I am.
