Solution Architect
London
Hybrid: 1x/2x a week in office
Duration: 6month contract
Pay Rate: £450 - £530 per day
Hours: Full Time


Our client, in the Higher Education Sector, is seeking an experienced Solution Architect with expertise in identity management to join their team on a 6month contract basis. The role involves designing and implementing authentication, access management, and identity modernisation solutions. You will lead workshops, engage stakeholders, and take ownership of the full solution architecture lifecycle.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Present solution designs clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Facilitate design workshops with minimal guidance.
  • Create complete solution architectures, including documentation.
  • Collaborate with business teams to define requirements and align solutions with strategic goals.
  • Develop standards and patterns to ensure architectural alignment.
  • Manage procurement processes, including market research and supplier evaluations.
 
Key Skills & Experience:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft-based directory services, including EntraID, Azure AD B2C, Active Directory, and Microsoft Integration Manager.
  • Strong knowledge of conditional access, multi-factor authentication, and role-based access control.
  • Experience with identity mastering, application provisioning, and governance in enterprise environments.
  • Proven ability to modernise identity services and migrate from legacy systems.
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) is a plus.
  • Experience delivering end-to-end solution architectures and related documentation.
  • Strong business acumen to understand drivers for change and improvement opportunities.
  • Involvement in procurement processes, including supplier selection and non-functional requirement specification.
  • Ability to engage, challenge, and influence stakeholders across teams.
  • Proven experience building collaborative relationships within IT and the wider organisation.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and produce clear reports.
  • Flexible and adaptable in a hybrid working environment.
